Confessions of a German Fashion Victim

Pink Fuel is participating in Project Themeory this week which is under the motto “What I Love”. Therefore Mochi Milena created a special skin called Broken Hearts Bleed, with her own words “a skin that mixes sweet with creepy”.

The skin actually is a preview of Pink Fuel’s new work-in-progress skin line Elly, which is reason enough to have a glance at it. I totally love Pink Fuel’s Ember skin, and I was already extremely curious about Elly. Though this special skin is perhaps something that you wouldn’t wear so often it is worth having a look at.

Every package contains a light, dark and red brow option and each of them as a teeth/no teeth version. What gives the name is a bleeding heart carved into the left cheek – the creepy part of the skin. It’s available in five different skin tones, and – what is the another reason to run for it – costs only 75 L$ per tone.

For my presentation of Elly Broken Hearts Bleeding I decided to do something different, that picks up the mentioned “creepy” aspect. So I’m showing it below wearing kimono and katana in honor to every Samurai movie I saw in my life I hope you have as much fun watching the pics as I had shooting them.

so i go from.. cute && sweet one day to … beaten && barely clothed the next?

today’s look all centers around a *new* skin from pink fuel that i love so much i could squish mochi milena in the biggest bear hug evar. <33333

the skin combines contrasts, which is something i love doing with looks. it’s what i’ve done in the past many many times over and elly only gives me an excuse to be adorable && bloody all at once. the sweet, youthful face is combined with a bloodied, heart-shaped gauge on the cheek. plump pink lips and minimal eye makeup and a sexy, shaded body (i *love* the stomach on this skin!)… ah, it’s a beautiful thing.

so i ran with the injured look of the skin and plopped on a ripped dress from luck inc. not only does the dress look like i came in contact with an angry tiger \o/ but it *also* came with a tattoo layer of bleeding cuts, most of which are centered on the face.

i’ve got on my *favorite* eyes (lul, sounds so odd, doesn’t it?) from negaposi and not only are the eyes beautifully made, but all colors include a pair of prim eyes too. which is exactly why these eyes are my favorites — wearing heterochromatic eyes is a perk of prim attachments && i really like the way the black and white colors look together. sorta looks like my silver eye is partly blind… perhaps clawed and injured in my epic fight? haha~

for accessories, i have a faaaaaaaaaabbulous new necklace on from hod. it’s out for fifty linden friday both instore && on xstreet and is *totally* worth it. hod jewelry is always beautifully made, but this necklace (and the separate piercing too!) is so long and so detailed and so sexy. it’s definitely one of my new faves.

i put on elf ears && horns because… well… why not? i’m on a kick lately with different ears && head accessories (just as a head’s up — if you’re into the animal bits like i am, cobrahive has *two* bunny sets out for 50L friday. you’re welcome ) and the horns from illusions were too nice not to wear. plus, they were priced incredibly reasonable. 50L for sleek black horns? oh *fuck* yes.

i might be a little sore tomorrow, eheh, but for today… i look fierce. and bloody. but mostly fierce.

Chic at Phil’s Place
According to Eingestellt von Schnaeppchen there are more than an alphabet’s worth of grid-wide hunts starting in August. Wow! The former “show us the hunt goodies” site will no longer be blogging hunts, this according to an earlier post, so it will be up to other bloggers to do their own legwork. This gives the NEW kids on the block a huge opportunity to shine. 


In the olden days (which could be merely months in SL) bloggers did the hunts and blogged their favorites. I put in plenty of  hunt hours in the past. I hope to do two or three hunts in August. How far I get will depend on how difficult it is to find the hunt items — I am not a look for an hour type gal. Also, near the top of my stick to it list, is the ability to bypass a hunt locale where I can’t find the prize. And of course, we all want things that we would like to keep.


Additional hunt news on August’s scene is a shift to group and pay hunts. Now there have been dollarbie hunts in the past as well as “buy a hud to hunt” gridwides; there may even have been hunts just like we are seeing in August, but if so — I missed them.


So, newish themes in the mix are pay per item hunts which include The Platinum Hunt (which I mentioned earlier this week), a $10 hunt and the Rad Minds Inc. Hunt  which appears to be a smallish $20 hunt. My instincts tell me that $20 is too high for a grab bag you have to hunt for *wink*, but if there is enough press and Flickr promotion with photos, it may work well. I hope to be showing you some items from The Platinum Hunt;  at least I sent in my application *wink*.

The second shift in the gridwide hunt scene can be noticed in the Gother Than Thou Hunt which is a SL Group Hunt. This idea intrigued me, so I joined the group on rumor that it might be closed before the hunt. I forgot who posted that, but thank you whoever you are. The Thrifty Goth group is QUITE an adventure. They are a very, very chatty bunch. So be prepared for constant IMs going on. I’m actually liking it and I’ve TPed over to a couple of Midnight Mania boards today, so you may see me in black and pale soon.

The last hunt on my personal August list is the Sl House and Garden Hunt. It begins August 1, so it is the first for me. Happily, hunts are being staggered, so that helps some. The SLHGH is only for a week.

That’s my heads up hunt report as we head into August.

My Style in Second Life
The Bloomers and Summer Tunic are a subscribo gift from Hyper Culture. I really like the bloomers on the pants, they’re a cute look this summer. A few days ago, I said that I would be showing you more outfits from AVid, which totally does not get the attention it deserves.  So, today, I’m showing you one of the most dramatic outfits in the store.  Are you feeling dramatic?  Do you want every heard to turn when you enter the room?  There is statement jewelry, but this is a statement outfit, perfect for a masquerade, or a vampire ball.  Take a look at some of the wear options with this outfit.

Darwin Mizser has packed this outfit with so many pieces, you’ll spend a merry hour mixing and matching.  Ok I exaggerate a bit, but still…  The Raven comes with arm bands; beak; bindi; boots; choker with attached wings; choker without wings; corset; prim feathered dress top; fingernails; skirt base; gloves; feathered hat; mask; mini-tutu on two attachment points; shoulder prims; two pairs of stockings – ripped and very ripped; tail feathers; lace top; and garters.  Phew!  I’m wearing almost all the options except the mask, bindi, and beak above.  I’m also wearing the very ripped stockings.  Let’s see some more options.

Here I’m wearing the bindi, the choker without the attached wings, the tail feathers and tu-tu, the hat, and the less ripped stockings.  I’ve also taken off the corset for the photos to the right.  Showing a bit of tummy through the lace is sexah!  Ok, one more… this is the most dramatic.  You’ll be totally ready for the masquerade in this one.

Here, I’m wearing the full outfit, plus the feathered mask and beak – drama!  Most people think that AVid only makes leather outfits – but you can see here that’s not the case.  The feather textures are extremely realistic, like everything at AVid.

Second Style Magazine

Just about my favorite outfit inworld.  When I’m working away and get sidetracked, but I’m in the middle of looking like a nightmare, I have this all ready in a folder “to go.”  LOL!  The shirt is a classic from Phoenix Rising, I’m especially fond of the loose tie.   The pants are also from PR, but a different outfit!  Seriously, that place is beyond spectacular for both variety and quality.  My staples as always include, TRUTH hair, BELLEZA skin, and MAITREYA shoes.  However, in this case, it’s the accessories that really make this outfit (including that tie!)

Accessories from MANDALA, Paper Couture, kOwP, ADDICT,  HoD, and black gloves stolen from an Indryaoutfit are all added for “the look.”  Any aviator glasses will go, but these are my favs from HOC.

Busy, busy, running around. That’s SL and RL. The best part of SL, however, is you can open an IM window and call your friend immediately.

This little outfit is perfect for running around SL. The top, from Lavea Alter, is a cute little offering at the Car Wash Cart Sale, ideal for summer outfits and perfect paired with this skirt, from miu Villota, which is probably more a winter piece but works as a sort of ethnic fabric.

I put on this cute new set of jewelry from Kayleigh McMillan, which completes the look and makes me look more studied and less disheveled.
